the door.

Doors have always held a certain fascination for me. Maybe it's the way they're always so eager to meet your hand and greet you. Maybe it's the way they demand your attention, standing strong, always at the ready. I'm pulled in, and looking through my camera lens, I seek to do their beauty justice.
But just maybe, there's a picture of a door that I could never capture with my camera that so captivates me.

So vividly, I imagine Jesus patiently waiting as his gentle, persistent knock rings through the corridors of my heart.

Have you ever been a guest to someone's home who has children? Nothing brings a smile to my face more than the first few moments of arriving! Little faces peek through the window as they eagerly wait.  The slightest knock sends them rushing towards the door, yanking at the knob, flinging open the door to finally draw you in.

It's that kind of welcome I want to give my Lord when I open the door of my heart to Him day after day.

When I open my door...He opens a door too.
"Behold, I have put you before an open door which NO ONE can shut, because you have a little power, and have kept My Word and have not denied My Name." -Revelation 3:8

I'm beckoned in and ushered across the threshold of a door I could never open on my own. Could there be anything more enthralling? The mystery continues.
