an unlikely team

Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.
Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.
Psalm 127:1

The Lord is at work! He is building a team to support His work in Mexico City and I'm blessed to sit back and watch His faithful hand bring it to be.

Within minutes of each other, two sweet, widowed grandmas from my neighborhood rang the doorbell, both insisting that they give financially what they were able. One said to me, "I have to! You're one of my kids." Their sacrifice touched my heart, even convicted me.

In that same hour, I looked down at my phone to see this precious face! When asked if he knew any missionaries to complete this section of his AWANA Sparks book, Jack was quick to write down my name and find Mexico City on the world map. My heart was filled to overflowing. In the past weeks, I've received everything from handmade cards to dear prayers from little ones, both of which I cherish!

It's as if God was whispering to me, "You of little faith, why did you doubt?" (Matthew 14:30). Today once again confirmed that He works in unexpected ways and I'm confident He will continue to do so. This isn't how I would have guessed my team would start, but isn't it beautiful?
