Exactly one hour and one minute will get you from Chicago to Minneapolis by plane. This past Tuesday, I made my way to O'Hare, and one quick nap later, found myself in a city where I would spend several days training at EFCA's national office. There, I met several incredible couples and singles recently accepted to be on staff with ReachGlobal. Between us all, there will be new missionaries on the ground everywhere from stateside, to Costa Rica, to Berlin.
Throughout the week, we were trained in the area of "Ministry Partnership Development" and began putting into practice skills necessary for financial strategy, church presentations, and all the nitty-gritty details that fall in-between.
The faces in that photo represent just a few of the people who came alongside me in Minnesota, ministering to me and encouraging my heart. Undoubtedly, there were times of spiritual attack and being overcome with doubt and discouragement, but God in His faithfulness, used these people to bless and direct me back to the Lord.
This season of waiting is a season of refinement and even in the painful moments, I praise the Lord that He sees something worth refining. "But He knows the way that I take; when He has tested me, I will come forth as gold."-Job 23:10. For every moment of discouragement and feeling of being overwhelmed, there are so many more of encouragement, hope, and joy. In everything, God is still SO good.
