Do you make New Years resolutions? I had mildly good intentions of starting off 2015 with some brilliant charge or challenge. Then yesterday, I realized we were already in March (what?!) and I scratched the plan altogether.
But then there are moments like last week. Chairs circled round in the tea house, a heart-shaped brownie and tall candle sticks on the table, and conversation bouncing between us. Our community group was studying Mark 5 and I was struck by how Jesus was so for people in His ministry. Almost as quickly as I felt encouraged, I felt like I had fallen so short. That happens a lot when I look at Jesus.
So it got me thinking. . .
What would it happen if i approached every relationship and every interaction as an opportunity to seek the good of someone else?
I want to ask better questions, listen more intently, let me heart engage more deeply, and really -- just care more.
I don't have the answer, but I want to.
And I suppose that's my resolution.
