apple day.

Fall in the midwest is making the drive out to the apple orchard.
It's eating crisp apples off the trees just as quickly as filling our bags.
And it's walking past the sample platter of steaming apple cider donuts again and again until we leave with a couple dozen of our own.

Fall is the feeling of the oven on in mom's kitchen. It's ladies gathered around sticky countertops to peel, slice, chop, and mix. And it's the smell of cinamon-y apple pies baking in a buttery crust.

It's just one of the things the midwest does best.
