the daily grind.

Yesterday, I spent the morning on UNAM's campus registering for morning language school. The guy making my student ID card got a good chuckle out of my over eager smile in the photo. Happy to make your day, my friend.

After two days of using public transportation alone and making it home in one piece, I'm feeling like a million bucks (pesos?). The morning trek up to the metro and from the metro to the university has given me precious time to be with the the Lord and pray. To praise God for His new mercies, to call upon Him for a double portion of strength for the day, and to petition for the people of this city's hearts to be turned towards Him.

The Metro system in Mexico City.  I like to think I've at least mastered route 3...maybe.

My morning language class is 3 hours long, Monday-Friday. There are 14 other students in the class, representing Malawi, Botswana, Liberia, China, Japan, Italy, Fiji, and India. As we struggle through our spanish together, I'm praying that God would continue to form the words for me to share the gospel message on this mission field within a mission field!

Here's the sweet spot of my day: Spanish Bible study and English club. I've begun working with an on campus ministry that seeks to reach and equip students for Christ. We meet for Spanish Bible study Monday-Friday, and host English conversation groups twice a week. Yesterday, I had the opportunity to lead a small group for the first time and had an instant connection with the students. We laughed a LOT. I had great conversation and teaching opportunities that overflowed into dinner together afterwards. Best of all, I was able to share with them my love for Jesus and cannot wait to do it again and again.

But you know what tipped the scales and blessed me beyond measure? Upon introductions, three different students said, "You're the one we've been praying for."
