for your nearness.

 This week marks 6 weeks since stepping off a plane and into the urban jungle that is
Mexico City.

Today I walked the streets of my neighborhood, roundabout to my destination.
I walked and reflected. With each step taken, every street crossed, and each block circled, my eyes were opened more clearly to how intentionally God has directed and protected this past month and a half.

In the absence of everything that has been "normal" or comfortable, and while separated from those I dearly love and miss, I've never once been alone.

In every tear or broken moment, and in every smile or joy-filled moment,
God has remained near to me, giving me extra measures of Himself, strengthening my heart to press on. To fight the good fight.

God is always nearer than you may imagine Him to be.
God is so near that your thoughts are not as near as God:
your breath is not as near as God;
your very soul is not as near to you as God is.
And yet God, beacause He is God,
His uncreated Being is so far above us
that no thought can conceive it nor words express it.
-A.W. Tozer

  But for me it is good to be near God; I have made the Lord God my refuge,
that I may tell of all your works.
-Psalm 73:28

For me, it is good to be near God. Because He is good. Always.
